Early 1980s
Copystar Office Automation started as a photocopying service center. Then known as Capule Copying Center, the company served major universities in the Philippines particularly the Metro Manila, Pampanga, and Cebu areas.
1985
Copystar Office Automation was formally established to market remanufactured Ricoh copiers, spareparts and consumables in the Philippines.
1989
The company decided to discontinue its photocopying service to concentrate solely on retailing copier machines. In the same year, Copystar acquired a five-storey building at 948 J.P. Rizal St., Makati City, Philippines as its main headquarters.
1990
Copystar began expansion outside Metro Manila. Key dealers in the Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao were appointed. Office branches were established in the major business districts of Cebu City and Pampanga City to serve the Central Visayas and North Luzon region respectively.
1991
Exxon Philippines appointed Copystar as the dealer of isoparaffin chemicals. With the merger of Exxon and Mobil in 2000, Copystar became the sole distributor of ExxonMobil chemicals and specialties, including marine and aviation lubricants.
2000
Copystar was appointed by Canon as a distributor of brand new copiers and printers.
2003
A sister company, Powerstar Trading Incorporated, was established to handle the distribution of ExxonMobil chemicals, specialties and lubricants. Visit the company website at
